It strengthens the Stomach function; dispels Dampness in the Spleen by warming; enhances the Stomach Qi circulation; dissolves food Stagnation.  It is used to help a person who has retention of Dampness and Cold in the Spleen and Stomach resulting in indigestion.  Related symptoms are: indigestion; sensation of fullness after eating; epigastric and abdominal distention and fullness; lack of appetite; loss of taste; nausea; vomiting; belching; acid regurgitation; pain in the gastric or abdominal regions; gas; loose stools; diarrhea.  Tongue is usually swollen and thick with a white and greasy coating.  Pulse is usually moderate or slippery.
