Action and Indication: This formula reverses the ascension of rebellious Qi; resolves Cold-Phlegm; helps alleviate difficulty in breathing; helps stop coughing.  It is used to help a person who has difficulty breathing because of Kidneys Deficiency and Cold Phlegm in the Lungs, known as “excess above and Deficiency below.  Related symptoms are: coughing and wheezing with profuse sputum; difficulty breathing; shortness of breath with labored inhalation and smooth exhalation; flushing up; loss of taste; taking in less food; fullness and stifling sensation in the chest and epigastrium; vertigo; lower back pain; dizziness; edema; body and feet are weak; fatigue.  Tongue is usually white, slippery or greasy.  Pulse is usually tight and slippery.  

 

Contraindication: It is not for a person who has breathing difficulty caused by Lungs and Kidneys Deficiency or Heat and Phlegm accumulation in the Lungs.

 

主治﹕降气平喘，祛痰止咳。用于上实下虚，症见痰涎壅盛，喘咳短气，胸膈满闷，肢体倦怠；或肢体浮肿，舌苔白滑或白腻。
