Bai Zi Ren 柏子仁 (Biota Semen)               25.8%

Xuan Shen 玄参 (Scrophularia Radix)            12.8%

Shu Di Huang 熟地黄 (Rehmannia Radix (Prepared))  12.8%

Gan Cao 甘草 (Glycyrrhiza Radix (Licorice))          3.2%

Shi Chang Pu 石菖蒲 (Acorus Rhizoma)    6.5%

Dang Gui 当归 (Angelica Sinensis Radix)           6.5%

Mai Dong 麦冬 (Ophiopogon Radix)              6.5%

Fu Ling 茯苓 (Poria Cocos)                 6.5%

Gou Qi Zi 枸杞子 (Lycium Fructus)              19.4%

 

Action and indication: It can help nourish the Heart, tonifies the Blood & Kidney, resolves stagnation, subdues Yang fire and calm Shen.  Used for Heart Blood and/or yin deficiency causing Shen disturbances, in particular anxiety. Also is useful for nightsweats from Yin deficiency. Although tending to be somewhat cooling, this formula is mild enough to be used for Heat or thermally neutral presentations, and combines well with other constitutional formulas when additional Shen calming action is desired.
